Useful software, I use it to create all kind of bootable medias

Time and again, i have used Rufus to create bootable USB drives to install and live boot my favorite linux flavors . I highly recommend this software if you want to create a bootable disk, it is simple and straight to the point. The ui is basic and does not come with fancy features, but it makes this a light project, can quickly download it and make that live boot USB!

Rufus is a utility used to format and create bootable USB media, such as "USB sticks", memory cards, etc.

Under Windows it works great. Under Linux, MX has not tried it yet.

I used Rufus for creating a Windows installation USB drive, but when I used it to install an image through UEFI somehow it ruined my current BCD in a dual boot setup by deleting the BCD, and recreating it with just one entry. I had to fix the problem manually. Why not just copy the original ISO data to the drive, instead of doing something different, i.e. utilizing a EFI partition on the USB drive?

Exceptional product!!!! Its very useful for me to create any type of bootable device from an ISO. It truly deserve a five star rating..!! Thank you for the team behind it.

The main advantage of Rufus is its standalone and compact nature with complete feature set needed to create bootable USB flashes.

No nonsense piece of software that does what it claims. Use to use it regularly when I worked IT. No complaints.

Very useful and fast project

I've used this utility exclusively when installing low overhead Linux OSes for slower laptops and Windows 7 for my desktop. It works exactly as designed and has a clean interface.
